With the Godzilla series officially in hiatus (because it has been losing box-office and suitmation is an expensive technique perceived even by Japanese audiences as "old-fashioned"), it may be that this sort of change is necessary. Still, I think they could make a combination of suitmation and CGI work. Imagine a feature length film using this Big-G??I keep hearing nothing but great things about both entries in this series.
