Oh, and Stephen, to answer your other question, no, unfortunately I won't be in Brighton for World Horror. Can't afford it right at the moment. Again, I wish I could...

Don't tell me I drank so much Guinness I forgot being in Calgary completely? No, but
I wish I had been there. I would've loved to have met Stephen and you, Danel, and whoever else was in attendance. But alas I was back home in Australia, probably at work....

I fixed Dejana's name. That'll teach me just to cut-and-paste and not check for accuracy!

Hi,

Yeah, I remember that burger bar in Calgary; it's the one where a bunch of wild writers came in and drained the place dry of Guinness. The memory loss begins to be explained ...

Now I wish I could come to Brighton this time and see you all. Have a grand time, and Stetsons off to you for your amazing storytelling!

Cheers, Danel

P.S. Hey Rob, I just noticed that Dejana Dmitrijevic's first name was misspelled at the Ash-Tree site, and that an extra 'n' in it has mistakenly been carried over on to other sites. Any way you could make a quick correction to her first name above? I've already asked the Ash-Tree folk to make the fix at theirs.

Hi Robert: just clocked your reply.... thanks again, mate!! Much appreciated!! I thought we might have met and gone for a meal in some burger bar or similar in Calgary (World Fantasy?). I would have been with Mark Morris, We were with a bunch of Aussie writers and it was Halloween ('08?). But I might well be wrong, Not good with names (or dates). Are you by any change going to World Horror in Brighton? If not - see you soon anyway, I hope. Best, Steve

You'll love it, Jeff. Lots of ghostly goings-on. Likewise the previous volume -- my story, "Kulpunya", is alone worth the price!

Hi, Stephen. It is indeed me (Robert Hood) here. I do all the writing on the blog, aided by Kaiju Search-Robot Avery (as I call him because we've never met), who lives in the US and is adept at finding new and upcoming projects, and getting info out of people.

Thanks for dropping by. I can't remember meeting you, but as my mind is somewhat scatty at times I guess it's possible. It would have had to have been at an Australian convention? Or at 2007 World Fantasy in Saratoga Springs? Were you there by any chance?

I was deadly serious in my praise of "Afterlife" -- it remains one of my all-time favourites, a genuinely intelligent, dramatically powerful and often creepy supernatural TV series. Lesley Sharp's performance is superb, but you gave her an original and insightful script to work with. When I finally got to see "Ghostwatch" I was impressed there too. Even knowing what was going on, it managed to creep me out.

EG3 looks like it will be typically excellent read. Danel does a great editorial job -- and is an incredibly supportive and encouraging man.

I didn't realise you have a short story collection available -- Dark Corners. I'll have to chase it up.
