Kawakita took over the production from credited co-director Nobuaki Sugimoto, who directed the initial footage. Made in the &#8220;classic&#8221; tokusatsu style, <em>The God of Clay<\/em> is a welcome return to monster suits and miniature sets.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/godofclay03.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-10326 aligncenter\" title=\"godofclay03\" src=\"http:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/godofclay03.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"612\" height=\"459\" srcset=\"https:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/godofclay03.jpg 800w, https:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/godofclay03-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 612px) 100vw, 612px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Synopsis:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Back in his childhood Ken-chan, a young boy whose parents were killed in World War II, created a tiny clay god to symbolically punish warmongers for the destruction they\u2019ve wrought. 50 years later Ken is president of a Japanese defense contractor &#8212; the sort of war profiteer he\u2019d once blamed for his parents\u2019 death. In response to this irony, Ken\u2019s long-forgotten God Of Clay grows to enormous size, wreaking havoc and miniature destruction as it treks across the countryside toward Tokyo to confront its maker.
