Before this, animator Terry Gilliam defended the world from a plague of Killer Cars in the <em>Monty Python&#8217;s Flying Circus<\/em> episode: &#8220;How To Recognize Different Parts of The Body&#8221; (1970), using not digital manipulation but hand-crafted cut-out methods:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/killer-cars-nemesis-gilliam.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-12899 aligncenter\" title=\"killer-cars-nemesis-gilliam\" src=\"http:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/killer-cars-nemesis-gilliam-1024x553.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"345\" srcset=\"https:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/killer-cars-nemesis-gilliam-1024x553.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/killer-cars-nemesis-gilliam-300x162.jpg 300w, https:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/killer-cars-nemesis-gilliam.jpg 1276w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And of course the Goodies inflicted London with a rampaging real-life kitten in the form of &#8220;Kitten Kong&#8221; (1971), using miniature sets and super-imposed video:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/kittenkong.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-12900 aligncenter\" title=\"kittenkong\" src=\"http:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/kittenkong.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"366\" srcset=\"https:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/kittenkong.jpg 640w, https:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/kittenkong-300x171.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now, after a bit of a hiatus, however, the Cinema of the Backbrain brings you the latest daikaiju cat &#8212; <em>Catzilla<\/em>. This brief tale of a giant laser-eyed feline and his downfall was created as a demo video by Poland&#8217;s Plastic Demoscene Group in collaboration with Platige Image using spectacular state-of-the-art digital animation:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/catzilla02.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-12902 aligncenter\" title=\"catzilla02\" src=\"http:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/catzilla02-1024x572.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"357\" srcset=\"https:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/catzilla02-1024x572.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/catzilla02-300x167.jpg 300w, https:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/catzilla02.jpg 1277w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Though the Goodies&#8217; Kitten Kong might have provided more plot,\u00a0<strong>Catzilla<\/strong> (Poland-2012; animation, short [approx. 2:43 min.]; dir.
