Iwerks was a frequent associate of Walt Disney who is also responsible for one of my favourite cartoons, <a href=\"http:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/index.php\/2009\/07\/27\/ub-iwerks-balloon-land-1935\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Balloon Land&#8221;<\/a> (1935), featuring the very sinister Pincushion Man. &#8220;The Skeleton Dance&#8221; was the first of Disney&#8217;s &#8220;Silly Symphonies&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Synopsis<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The clock strikes midnight, the bats fly from the belfry, a dog howls at the full moon, and two black cats fight in the cemetery: a perfect time for four skeletons to come out and dance a bit.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><object width=\"422\" height=\"343\" data=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/eq-NKrC6itQ&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;rel=0\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\"><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/eq-NKrC6itQ&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;rel=0\" \/><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\" \/><\/object><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/bicha.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4112 alignleft\" style=\"margin: 10px;\" title=\"bicha\" src=\"http:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/bicha.jpg\" alt=\"bicha\" width=\"174\" height=\"174\" srcset=\"https:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/bicha.jpg 174w, https:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/bicha-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 174px) 100vw, 174px\" \/><\/a>Next, a faux trailer for a film titled <em>La Bicha<\/em> (Spain-2006; short [1:47 min]; dir. Paco Rocha), which works as a short film in its own right.\u00a0 It was n<span>ominated for Jury Award for Best Animation Short Film at &#8217;06 Edition of &#8220;Notodofilmfest, Festival Jameson de Cine Destilado&#8221;. <\/span><span>Script is by Juan Fernando Garc\u00eda and Paco Rocha, based on and idea from J. F. Garc\u00eda and Paco Villanueva, with sound, editing and post-production by Juanjo de Latorre.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Synopsis<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The trailer for a 1968 Spanish movie based upon the dropped atom bomb incident two years before on the Palomares Coast. After friends tease him, he sneaks off to the sick bay, wishing everyone in the world would go away.
