{"id":448,"date":"2008-04-12T11:04:34","date_gmt":"2008-04-12T01:04:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/index.php\/2008\/04\/12\/guidolon-gets-bigger\/"},"modified":"2008-04-12T15:33:48","modified_gmt":"2008-04-12T05:33:48","slug":"guidolon-gets-bigger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/index.php\/2008\/04\/12\/guidolon-gets-bigger\/","title":{"rendered":"Guidolon gets Bigger!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/04\/waitron.jpg\" title=\"Waitron\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/04\/waitron.jpg\" alt=\"Waitron\" height=\"419\" width=\"410\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Meet Waitron, the daikaiju waiter!<\/p>\n<p>Waitron is Todd Tennant&#8217;s latest creation for Frank Wu&#8217;s Guidolon project and it is representative of the new phase that it has entered &#8212; the full-length feature film years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Tragical Historie of Guidolon, the Giant Space Chicken&#8221; began its public life as a story in the form of a screenplay that appeared in an anthology I edited with Robin Pen: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.roberthood.net\/daikaiju-antho\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Daikaiju! Giant Monster Tales<\/strong><\/a> (originally published by Agog! Press in 2005 and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Daikaiju-Giant-Monster-Tales-Goodfellow\/dp\/0809557584\/ref=pd_bbs_sr_4?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1207962201&amp;sr=8-4\" target=\"_blank\">subsequently<\/a> reprinted by Agog! Press and Prime Books in the US).<\/p>\n<p>Frank Wu, the story&#8217;s author, went on to produce the story as a short film, with the help of assorted talented friends, including Todd. Here it is in all its 11-minute glory:<\/p>\n<p><center><object height=\"355\" width=\"425\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/MteAVvr_wrU&amp;hl=en\"><\/param><param name=\"wmode\" value=\"transparent\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/MteAVvr_wrU&amp;hl=en\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" wmode=\"transparent\" height=\"355\" width=\"425\"><\/embed><\/object><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Frank used this short film as a &#8220;sample pitch&#8221; for a TV series, &#8220;Guidolon and Friends Half-Power Half-Hour&#8221;, but has now resolved to spend the next few years producing it as a feature film.
