Paul Bunnell) embraces rockers, flying saucers, femme fatales, black-and-white photography, songs, dastardly deeds, the Fate of the Planet, raising dead rock stars and Ghastlyscope. It also includes genre luminaries Reggie Bannister (from the <em>Phantasm<\/em> movies), Kevin McCarthy (of <em>Invasion of the Body Snatchers<\/em> fame) and Paul Williams (known, among other things, for his part in Brian De Palma&#8217;s <em>The Phantom of the Paradise*<\/em>).<\/p>\n<h5>*which appears to have caught the <a href=\"http:\/\/imdb.com\/title\/tt0914381\/\" target=\"_blank\">remake<\/a> bug itself.<\/h5>\n<blockquote><p><strong>JOHNNY X<\/strong> and his rebellious gang of juvenile delinquents from outer space (called the Ghastly Ones) have been banished to planet Earth until they can pay for their crimes.<\/p>\n<p>The Ghastly Ones are in hot pursuit of a mysterious femme fatale named <strong>BLISS<\/strong>, who has stolen their most prized possession\u2014a strange suit with magical powers known as the \u201cresurrection suit.\u201d\u00a0 When Johnny X wears this suit, he can control anyone against their will.<\/p>\n<p>To capture Bliss, Johnny must form an unlikely alliance with a shifty show promoter, <strong>KING CLAYTON<\/strong>, who desperately needs the resurrection suit for his own selfish scheme\u2014to insure that the legendary rock star <strong>MICKEY O\u2019FLYNN <\/strong>successfully completes a comeback concert.<\/p>\n<p>Johnny&#8217;s plight is further complicated when the unpredictable rocker suddenly drops dead, forcing him to use the suit for a far darker purpose\u2014to bring the late, great Mickey O\u2019Flynn back from the grave for a spectacular concert of the macabre!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>[Story synopsis from the film&#8217;s official <a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnnyxmovie.com\/themovie\/\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/04\/johnnyxposter.jpg\" title=\"Ghastly Love of Johnny X poster\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/04\/johnnyxposter.jpg\" alt=\"Ghastly Love of Johnny X poster\" height=\"573\" width=\"389\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Still in production, <em>The Ghastly Love of Johnny X<\/em> looks like a hoot.
