Bernard L. Kowalski).<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/attack_of_the_giant_leeches_poster_01.jpg\" title=\"Giant Leeches 1959 poster\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/attack_of_the_giant_leeches_poster_01.jpg\" alt=\"Giant Leeches 1959 poster\" height=\"655\" width=\"430\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The leeches famously looked a little like deflated swimming-pool mattresses that had eaten a scuba-diver alive.<\/p>\n<p><center><object height=\"355\" width=\"425\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/lFuDQYNtOOE&amp;hl=en\"><\/param><param name=\"wmode\" value=\"transparent\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/lFuDQYNtOOE&amp;hl=en\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" wmode=\"transparent\" height=\"355\" width=\"425\"><\/embed><\/object><\/center><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">But there was sex and violence and giant leeches with perverted lusts!<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Now <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brettkelly.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">Brett Kelly<\/a> &#8212; writer\/director of a slew of low-budget independent genre flicks, such as <em>The Bonesetter<\/em> (2003), <em>The Bonesetter Returns<\/em> (2005), <em>My Dead Girlfriend<\/em> (2006) and <em>Kingdom of the Vampire<\/em> (2007) &#8212; is remaking the film, no doubt retaining the  sex and violence and giant leeches with perverted lusts, but replacing the mattresses with something more leech-like.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/leechsposter.jpg\" title=\"Attack of the Giant Leeches 2008 poster\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/roberthood.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/05\/leechsposter.jpg\" alt=\"Attack of the Giant Leeches 2008 poster\" height=\"594\" width=\"419\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The film is now in post-production, with a release planned for later this year. Meanwhile, Kelly has tossed a few production shots into the cyber-swamp.
