I love this retro sci-fi stuff!<\/p>\n

Iron Sky<\/strong><\/em> is a semi-serious sci-fi invasion epic directed by Finnish filmmaker\u00a0 Timo Vuorensola. With aesthetically elegant aplomb it mixes alternative history with some rather convincing retro technological design work to create a tale of the Fourth Reich that is looking positively (and darkly) gorgeous.<\/p>\n

Synopsis<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Towards the end of World War II the staff of SS officer Hans Kammler<\/strong> made a significant breakthrough in anti-gravity.<\/p>\n

From a secret base built in the Antarctic, the first Nazi spaceships were launched in late \u201845 to found the military base Schwarze Sonne<\/em> (Black Sun) on the dark side of the Moon. This base was to build a powerful invasion fleet and return to take over the Earth once the time was right.<\/p>\n

Now it\u2019s 2018, the Nazi invasion is on its way and the world is goose-stepping towards its doom.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

An international co-production by Blind Spot Pictures<\/em> & Energia Productions<\/em> from Finland, 27 Films<\/em> from Germany and Perfect Circle<\/em> from Canada, the film will be produced by an international team based in Helsinki, Finland with filming taking place mostly in Germany. It’s well on the way now, with a new trailer containing actual first footage (which you can see below). Iron Sky<\/em> stars Julia Dietze (see picture below), G\u00f6tz Otto (from the 007 film Tomorrow Never Dies<\/em>)(see picture below), Tilo Pr\u00fcckner and even Udo Kier (recently in Blade<\/em> and Shadow of the Vampire<\/em>, but more infamously as the lead in both Flesh for Frankenstein<\/em> and Blood for Dracula<\/em> — the Andy Warhol\/Paul Morrissey gore-and-sex horrors from the 1970s).<\/p>\n
