Razortooth (US-2006; dir. Patricia Harrington)
Deep in the Florida Everglades, something is alive that should have died eons ago. Something is feeding, when it should be full. Something is moving, in ways that seem all but impossible to its pursuers. It’s moving in the dark…under the surface of the waters…with an appetite that makes no distinction between man or beast. Now, it’s up to an unlikely band of locals, an animal control officer, a small town sheriff, and a scientist’s team of college youth to stop the threat…before it’s too late.
I’ve been awaiting this film for some time.I wish a distributor would pick it up for release soon. It’s been released in Japan and Thailand. It looks so cool.Man can that eel move!!
Ever notice how almost every giant mutant animal movie invariably features a character who gives a speech about how the creature in question possesses one or more of the following characteristics:
1. It’s one of the deadliest predators on Earth
2. It’s at the top of its particular food chain
3. It’s an efficient killing machine
4. It lives to kill
^_^
LOL!!That is really played-out!! It is nice to see the occasional film that doesn’t fit all the typical Sci-Fi Channel cliches.I’ve been looking to indie flicks lately. They seem to be a bit more refreshing and often daring.
Have you seen that movie where the creature in question:
1. is one of the most benign and harmless vegetarians on Earth
2. is regularly beaten to its dinner by molluscs
3. is an efficient crossword completing machine
4. lives to watch re-runs of “Friends”?
Never fear, it’ll be on the Sci-Fi Channel pretty soon.
LOL!! I think that it already has!! I caught it on a late night rerun.
Haw! Now that would be funny! I can imagine the trailer (white text fading in and out over a black background):
“It feeds on plants”
“Slow-moving”
“Intelligent enough to complete a crossword puzzle…”
“Enjoys sitcom re-runs”
“and now…”
“DEADLY!”
“An original Sci-Fi Channel production…”
“ATOMIC CROSSWORD-SOLVING PLANKTON”
Tagline: “What’s an eight-letter word for MASSACRE?”
And the title: “13 Down: The Last Space!”
