No, it’s not a horror film, and nor does it hark from the 1950s. Attack of the Slime People (US-2008; dir. Martin King) is an independent comedy about a rather unstable independent filmmaker in the 50s, who gets a chance to produce his B-flick opus and grasps the opportunity with maniacal fanaticism.
Buddy Flavanoid is a washed up Hollywood director trying to make his big comeback and cement his place in history as one of the greats. He sets out to make a monster movie about slime people but ends up himself becoming a monster of sorts, murdering (with a baseball bat of all things) anyone who threatens to get in the way of his “uncompromising vision.” (Independent Film Reviews)
The film is reported to have excellent production values, to be very funny and to feature an excellent, if rather extreme, performance by Robert Tiffi as the loopy wannabe Ed Wood.
Below are some scenes from the film:

This one looks like a ton of fun!! That last vid is just absolutely hilarious!! I can’t wait till I get my chance to see it!! Thanks for posting this Rob!!
Yeah, I agree with Avery; this last clip is the “money-shot”! Too bad the “investor” with the adenoids complications didn’t realize this too. Looking forward to seeing this:0)

I saw this movie at the Tromadance film festival 2008. To say this movie is hysterical is one thing a better word is sublime.
King and Tiffi the Scorsese and De NIro of to the groin comedy!
The little movie that could and did….deliver that is. Where do I get a copy?….does anybody know?
Great story, well executed and perfectly cast!
@ ‘Johnathan’ I don’t think that it has a distributor just yet, but from what I’ve read and heard it’s an exceptional film so it shouldn’t be a long wait. I’d bet that by contacting the director you could get a screener copy. This seems to be the official website and has an e-mail for contact available: http://www.geocities.com/slimepeople/ I’m sure I can speak for Rob and say that we’d both really LOVE to see this one as well.
Absolutely, Avery!
This flick won first place at the 2008 Ruff Cutz Film Conference. A real favorite of the audience and buckled the judges. A Kramer/Kubrickish Mad Mad Mad World meets The Shining that both Lampoons and Laments the loss of horror B film Hollywood movie making of the golden 50’s
Hey Avery or Backbrain. I contacted the director and he was good enough to send a copy. Did you get a copy yet? If not, contact the director Martin King and I am sure it will not be a problem. You really need to see this film.

Who is this guy! Peter Lorre or Vincent Price? Bazaaro world and then some.

This one should be a favorite at the fests..original writing, talented cast, great story telling. Low budget but high ambition. Very avaunt gaurde, there is more going on here than meets the frivolous eye.
I suspect so. I hope I get to see it soon. Have you seen it?
Absolutely…http://www.geocities.com/slimepeople/ is the website. Contact the director and he will send you a copy I’m sure. You should review and post.

Great effort. You can see the hard work put into this film. It would have been nice if the lead (Tiffi) was more charming than creepy. But maybe that was the intent. Hollywood is very creepy.
Where do films like this come from? And then where do they go? Great movie making that seems to go unappreciated and undistributed. Studio execs can learn a lot from renegade film makers who aren’t afraid to put their balls and money on the table.
Where’s the sequel?

All in all, it’s a fun enough flick. If you can catch a screening with the right audience, I’m sure it’s even better. As for everybody involved, I look forward to seeing what they do next. Especially Tiffi. His moments when he’s not a seething Tasmanian Devil are perhaps his best.
I did get to see it and absolutely loved it!
This little film came across my desk. I showed my assoiciates and our jaws almost hit the ground. From the ridiculous to the sublime the principal of lateral continuity rules the picture. There are more layers in this story than the Grand Canyon. I highly recommend distribution.
