Mecha-Godzilla Transformer?

This is brief and I have no idea what it comes from, but it’s rather cool:

And also cool is this French ad that might represent a Euro sneer directed at the 1998 US Godzilla and its depiction of the French:

Thanks to Todd Tennant for drawing them to my attention.

You’re very welcome, Rob. It was my pleasure finding those.

Yes, Dev-Emm did seem to do their best to sneer at just about everyone back in ’98, didn’t they? Most of all; Godzilla and those who love him. I for one am very glad they were never given another chance to make a sequel.

It’s my wish that someday sanity will return to Sony/Toho and they will give Jan DeBont the chance to produce the REAL American GODZILLA movie that they should have allowed him to do in 1994.

There was definitely a level of cynicism in reports of what Devlin and Emmerich were saying — and they clearly had no understanding of what makes Godzilla click.

But, Todd, you’re doing your bit to show the world what the US Godzilla movie should have been. I think it’s time I did a post about it, in fact…
