This excellent piece of atmospheric artwork — either a promotional banner or an undead memorial (“Here shambles Robert Hood, hacking into your backbrain from beyond the grave”) — turned up unheralded in cyberspace this morning. It was created by Nyssa Pascoe of Awritergoesonajourney.com fame. It’s one of a set that includes a banner for my partner Cat Sparks and good friend and surrogate offspring, Sean Williams. Go check them out — along with the rest of Nyssa’s beautifully gothic design work — on her deviantART gallery.
Thanks, Nyssa. It’s superb.
Below is the “corrected” version of the banner, with the name of the blog correct. I’ve left the other one up because it seems oddly appropriate. Initially I thought the “mistake” was deliberate, until Nyssa confessed otherwise. I guess you should use this version for any linking to Undead Backbrain.
Thanks again, Nyssa.

^_^ Glad you like it!
No idea why I made them, but you have to admit, a zombie pinup is just awesome wrapped in awesome 🙂
I just realised I got your site name wrong. Why the hell did I think it was Brain Hack??!
LoL I’ll just fix that now!
I thought it was deliberate — making a reference to me hacking into people’s brains, zombie-like. Or else calling me a hack writer… 🙂
Ohhhhhh!!!!! Are we allowed to use this as a graphic link to the blog? Excellent work Nyssa.
Just looked at the conditions of the stock I used, it seems okay 🙂
Go forth and spread the zombie love! And I posted the one with the correct name here: http://nyssa-p.livejournal.com/128105.html. If you want to attribute the artist who did the zombie pinup, it lives here on the net: http://johnny-sputnik.deviantart.com/art/Zombie-Pin-Up-104478579.
Maybe it was a subconcious thing, Rob. In case of a zombie invasion, I know I’d be crap with a gun, so melee weapons would be my deal. That or hiding XD But movies have taught me never to hide with old people, mute farmers, pregnant woman, or people in red shirts!
As you can see, Nyssa, I’ve suitably adapted the post. Thanks heaps!
Jeff, use the one with the actual name of the blog as a graphic link. 🙂
No probs at all! 🙂
