Update: Reptisaurus

A while back the Backbrain reported that an old short-run giant monster comic series, Reptisaurus the Terrible, was being made into a hopefully not-so-terrible live-action film by Fred Olen Ray’s son, Chris.

Now the Howling Moon Productions website has announced that principal photography is completed and that the post-production creature animation is taking place as we speak. The site includes some production shots, of which the following are a sample:

Reptisaurus 1

Reptisaurus 2

Reptisaurus 3

[Note: Director Chris Ray tells me this one is a promo shot
for the film Ninja Doll rather than Reptisaurus.
Never mind… it adds colour to this page!]

The site gives precious little information on the film, but these, and other shots, give some indication of what is to come…

Wow, that chick in the fetish gear has had a lot of work done on her face…

  2. Backbrain says:

She looks familiar, but I can’t put a name to her….

  3. Chuck says:

Trust me, the woman in the fetish gear isn’t in the movie. That pic was just on the howling moon web site. There are pics with “Buck Rogers” aka Gil Gerard though.

  4. Backbrain says:

Well, it was in a rather ambiguous group of pictures, some of which had captions about “Reptisaurus”, so it sort of suggested it might be related to the movie somehow. Of course the “Ninja Doll’ one was there, too…

  5. Chris says:

Yes this is true. The website has photos from different films that I have worked on. The caption for the shot with Dan Golden and Nicole should state the name of the film I shot that for. Otherwise I appologise for any confusion that may have caused.

  6. Backbrain says:

Oops, it’s my fault, Chris. I should have investigated more closely. What was the film’s title? Let me know and I’ll add an amendment. I thought it was an effective shot, though…. 🙂

  7. Chris says:

I do believe that shot is from the Ninja Doll film as well.

  8. Jeremiah Campbell says:

This is the first I’m seeing stills from the flick. I can’t wait to see the finished product, Chris!
